\nThe Jaltest JDC205A connects the Renault 11-pin OBD1 diagnostic connector from Renault Trucks to the 16-pin OBD2-input of your Jaltest diagnostic cable. On the vehicle side there is a black rectangular connectorwith a pin field ofthree rows of four, of which eleven positions a pin and the top right corner remains empty. The cable exits straight out and measures 28 to 30 cm; the OBD2 connector features the marking JDC 205A pressed. The connection is located in the cab.\n
Via this adapter, diagnostic equipment connects to the vehicle network of Renault series withoutDXi-motor. Depending on the model and year of manufacture, you access the engine control units DCI Euro 2 and Euro 3with common-rail injection and the olderITC, the central vehicle control unit VECU, the trays AS Tronic, for TBV and WTEC III Allison, the braking and air suspension systems EBS, ABS and ECAS, and also the ZF Intarder, the INS Euro 3 instrument panel, the Diagmax maintenance system and the BBM body module. The cable works with Jaltest Link V8.1 and V9 and falls under the module Jaltest CV.\n

Applications and functionality
Using this connection, you access the truck's control units with Jaltest software. Which units are present depends on model, engine specification and year of manufacture: a Magnum from the nineteen-nineties carries less electronics than a late Premium. The units below are from Jaltest's Renault Trucks coverage.

- DCI Euro 2 / DCI Euro 3, engine management with common-rail injection: The electronic diesel control system.
- ITC, electronic injection timing control: The engine management of older versions.
- VECU Euro 2 / VECU Euro 3, central vehicle control unit: The unit that coordinates vehicle functions.
- AS Tronic, robotic gearbox: The shift control, with a separate input for gearbox parameters.
- TBV, gearbox management and WTEC III Allison, automatic transmission: The remaining transmission controls.
- EBS 2.1 / EBS 2.2 / EBS and ABS-variants (ABS 24/EU12, ABS 2X, ABS I8, ABS/ASR C, D/E, E): Braking and brake management systems.
- ZF Intarder, auxiliary brake: Retarder control.
- ECAS 001 / 020/027 / 044/403 / 303/304/311/312, electronically controlled air suspension: Axle level adjustment.
- INS Euro 3, instrument panel and Diagmax, maintenance system: Instrument panel and service indicator.
- BBM, body module: Control of body functions on fitted variants.
What you can do
- Read and clear fault codes: Access the fault memory of the control unit with detailed descriptions of detected faults.
- View live data: Monitor current sensor values connected to the control unit, displayed as figures and graphs.
- Activate components: Directly trigger components to determine whether the fault lies with the part itself or in the wiring.
- Configure parameters: Write configurations and settings to the control unit.
- Perform calibrations: For systems where Jaltest offers a calibration procedure, such as after component replacement.
- Reset maintenance: Reset the service indicator via the vehicle's maintenance system.
Compatible vehicles and applications
The connector type determines compatibility, not the model. This cable works with any Renault Trucks equipped with the 11-pin diagnostic connector. The Jaltest CV coverage listed below covers the following series; the end year is capped at the Euro IV transition, when the standardised 16-pin OBD2-connector became mandatory for commercial vehicles. The DXi variants of the same series fall outside this scope.
