The Jaltest JDC203A connects the round 14-pin diagnostic connector of older Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicles to the 16-pin OBD2 input of your Jaltest diagnostic cable. On the vehicle side there is a black round connector with a knurled coupling ring and fourteen pins in a circular pattern. The cable is 28 to 30 cm long and the connection is located in the cab.
With the cable connected, the Jaltest software accesses the control units behind the connector, from the engine control MR and driving control FR to brakes, air suspension and the instrument panel. How many units there are depends on the series: an SK/MK/LK from the nineties has only a fraction of what an Actros has. The cable works with the Jaltest Link V8.1 and V9 and falls under Jaltest CV.

The cable is intended for workshops that read out older Mercedes-Benz trucks, distribution trucks and Unimogs with the Jaltest Link. An Atego distribution truck carries different modules to an Actros tractor unit; the units listed below come from Jaltest's Mercedes-Benz coverage.

How to use it
- Check the connector: Locate the round 14-pin connection in the cab.
- Connect: Plug the JDC203A in and tighten the coupling ring.
- Link pairing: Connect the OBD2 end to the diagnostic cable.
- Ignition on: Switch the ignition on, without starting the engine.
- Read out: Select Mercedes-Benz, the series and the system.

The connector determines compatibility, not the model. The cable fits Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicles with the round 14-pin diagnostic connection. The series in Jaltest CV coverage are listed below; the final year is October 2005, when the 16-pin OBD2 connection became mandatory for trucks.
