The Jaltest JDC117A connects the 8-pin diagnostic connector of the e-ABS, the electronic braking system for semi-trailers and trailers, to the 16-pin OBD2 port of your Jaltest diagnostic cable. On the trailer side, there is a rectangular black connector with a locking clip, which houses eight pins arranged in two rows of four. Notable is the length: at 200 to 220 cm, this is one of the longer cables in the trailer range, where most others remain at around 30 cm.
Once the connection is established, the Jaltest software reaches the Trailer e-ABS control unit with the full set of read functions: fault codes, live data, ECU information and maintenance data. The determining factor is the e-ABS unit on the chassis and not the semi-trailer manufacturer, which means the cable fits any trailer in which this system is installed. For trailers, no standardised diagnostic connector has ever been mandated, so this connector remains in use as long as the system is on the road. The cable works with Jaltest Link V8.1 and V9 and falls under the Jaltest CV module.
