The Jaltest JDC113.9 connects the round 5-pin diagnostic connector of the refrigeration unit to the 26-pin Sub-D port (DB26) of the Jaltest Link. On the unit side, there is a round bayonet connector with a light grey coupling ring, an orange sealing ring and five hollow pins in a grey housing. At 97 to 103 cm in length, this is by far the longest of the three refrigeration unit cables, allowing the Link to sit beside the unit rather than hanging from it.
Thermo King and Carrier use the same round 5-pin connector on the units covered here, so a single cable serves both brands. Thermo King covers the Smart Reefer 2 and Smart Reefer 3 and the Thermoguard TG-VI; Carrier covers the MAXIMA/ULTRA, the VECTOR and the VECTOR 1350. The equipment retrieves fault codes, measured values and ECU data from these control systems, and with the VECTOR 1350, maintenance data is also included. The official product page lists the Link version as V9; the cable falls under the Jaltest CV module.

Applications and functionality
Using this connection, you can access the Jaltest software to communicate with the refrigeration unit control on the trailer or semi-trailer, and not the engine management of the tractor instead. The units listed below are covered by Jaltest coverage for transport refrigeration. For each control unit, we specify whether it is a Thermo King or Carrier system and what data the equipment retrieves.
Control units you can access
- Thermo King Smart Reefer 2 and Smart Reefer 3: Refrigeration unit control, including fault codes, live data and ECU information.
- Thermo King Thermoguard TG-VI: The same readout as the Smart Reefer control units.
- Carrier MAXIMA/ULTRA and VECTOR: Refrigeration unit control, including fault codes, live data and ECU information.
- Carrier VECTOR 1350: The same readout, supplemented with maintenance data.
What you can do
- Read fault codes: Access and clear the fault memory of the refrigeration unit control after repair.
- View live data: Current readings from sensors and pressure transducers, with an alert if any value falls outside the normal range.
- Access maintenance data: For the Carrier VECTOR 1350, view service intervals and generate a service report.
Compatible vehicles and applications
The connector on the refrigeration unit is what matters, not the trailer brand. This cable is designed for the round 5-pin connector used by Thermo King and Carrier on the units listed below. Refrigeration units have never been subject to a standardised diagnostic connector requirement, so the model year does not indicate anything about the connector on the trailer.
