The Jaltest JDC535A is the diagnostic cable for Hitachi excavators, wheel loaders and dump trucks. On the machine side, it features a cream-coloured connector block in a black housing; on the interface side, a black 16-pin OBD2 connector, and midway along the cable sits a black plastic junction box with a screw and two cable entries. The 6-pin connection is located in the cab; the cable measures 28 to 30 cm.
With this connection, Jaltest diagnostic equipment reads not only the Isuzu engine control unit but also the machine-side systems of the Hitachi: the central machine computer MC, the gateway ICF and the instrument cluster MON are all on the same line. The Isuzu 4HK1/4JJ1 control unit is supported via both CAN and K-Line. This is the key difference from the JDC560A9, which connects to the six-pin engine connector in the engine harness and accesses only the engine control unit. This cable is specified for Jaltest Link V8.1 and falls under Jaltest OHW (Off-Highway machines).

Applications and functionality
Using this connection, the Jaltest software accesses the control units of the machine. Which systems vary depending on model and configuration.
Control units you can access
- MC, central machine computer: The computer that controls machine functions, with fault codes, measured values and ECU data.
- ICF, gateway: The gateway of the machine network; Jaltest reads the fault codes from this.
- 4HK1, 4JJ1 (CAN) Isuzu, common-rail engine control: The engine control of the newer Zaxis generations, including additional functions.
- 4HK1, 4JJ1 (K Line) Isuzu, common-rail engine control: The same engine family on the older K-Line communication.
- ECM, engine control: The engine control on machines without Isuzu-specific management.
- MON, instrument cluster: The instrument cluster in the cab.
What you can do
- Read and clear fault codes: Read the fault memory of the control unit, with a description of the detected fault.
- View measured values: The current values of the sensors connected to the control unit, displayed as figures and graphs.
- Consult maintenance data: Available from the engine control, with maintenance intervals and a service report.
- Perform additional functions: Only on the Isuzu engine control via CAN; these functions are not available on the K-Line variant.
Compatible vehicles and applications
The connector type determines compatibility, not the model. This cable fits any Hitachi machine with the 6-pin diagnostic connector in the cab, identifiable by the cream-coloured contact holder in the black cover. The following series are covered by Jaltest OHW.
