The Jaltest JDC101A connects the 3+3-pin diagnostic connector of the Haldex Modal trailer braking system to the 16-pin OBD2 port of your Jaltest diagnostic cable. Behind the OBD2 plug, a single black cable runs to two black connector housings, each with three chambers: one with three brass-coloured flat blade sockets, the other with two. Both carry sockets and each fits onto its own blade block on the Modal unit. The cable is 28 to 30 cm long.
Beyond this connection, the Jaltest software accesses the ABS MODAL, the anti-lock braking control for semi-trailers and trailers. You can read fault codes, measured values, ECU data and maintenance data. As the Haldex unit determines compatibility, not the trailer manufacturer, the cable fits a wide range of trailer brands. It works with Jaltest Link V8.1 and V9 and is covered by Jaltest CV.
Benefits
Points to note
Applications and functionality
Through this connection, the Jaltest software accesses the brake control of the semi-trailer or trailer, not the towing vehicle. The Haldex unit you find is determined by the system generation on the chassis, not the trailer manufacturer.
Control units you can access
- ABS MODAL: Anti-lock braking system for trailers.
What you can do
- Fault codes: Read with description.
- Measured values: With out-of-range notification.
- ECU data: Data from the control unit.
- Maintenance data: Service intervals and service report.
How to use it
- Finding the connection: Locate the Modal unit on the chassis.
- Connecting: Press both housings onto their own blade block.
- Linking Link: Connect the OBD2 end to the diagnostic cable.
- Voltage: Make sure the trailer has voltage.
- Reading out: Select Haldex and the ABS MODAL system.
Compatible vehicles and applications
The plug determines compatibility, not the model. This cable fits any semi-trailer or trailer where the Haldex Modal unit with two 3-pin connections is mounted on the chassis. Trailers with a single round 4-pin Haldex connector require JDC102A or JDC108A.
Haldex (scope):
- ABS MODAL: Anti-lock braking control for semi-trailers and trailers.
- Chassis make: Not decisive; the cable follows the Haldex unit.
- Year of manufacture: Not decisive; what matters is the connection.
