The Jaltest JDC529A connects the 7-pin round diagnostic connector of Claas combine harvesters and the Xerion series to the 16-pin OBD2 input of your Jaltest diagnostic cable. On the machine side is a compact chrome-plated metal plug with a knurled nut and 7 gold-plated pins, six in a ring around one centre pin. The cable measures 28 to 30 cm.

Via this connection, the Jaltest software accesses the machine network. You can reach the ADM 2 / ADM 3 engine interface, the VBM and XIF on-board computers, the MR unit pump system and the Caterpillar engine controls, the transmission, the SCR exhaust aftertreatment and the harvesting controls SAM, RTR, RSM, GUA and YMM. Which of these are present varies by series. The cable is specified for the Jaltest Link V8.1 and is covered by Jaltest AGV.

HIGHLIGHTS

POINTS TO NOTE

✕Specified for the Jaltest Link V8.1. Under reference number JDC529A9, the same 7-pin Claas cable exists as a separate version.
✕Only for the 7-pin connector; for the 8-pin version on the same machines, the JDC530A is intended.
✕The two plugs look very similar. Count the pins in the outer ring: six around a centre pin is this cable, seven around a centre pin is the JDC530A.
✕Which systems you can reach depends heavily on the series; a MEGA only runs ADM 2/3, the MR engine control and SCR, and the EHC lifting system of the Xerion has more limited capabilities.

Applications and functions

The cable is intended for workshops and contractors who read out Claas combine harvesters and the Xerion. Which control units are present varies greatly by series and year of manufacture; a MEGA runs a handful of them, a LEXION just over twenty.

How to use it

  1. Finding the connector: Locate the round metal connector in the cab.
  2. Counting pins: Six pins around a centre pin belong to this cable.
  3. Connecting: Tighten the JDC529A using the knurled nut.
  4. Link pairing: Connect the OBD2 side to the Jaltest Link V8.1.
  5. Reading out: Switch the ignition on, select Claas and the series.

Compatible vehicles and applications

The connector is decisive, not the model. The cable fits every Claas combine harvester and Xerion with the 7-pin round diagnostic connector in the cab. The series covered by Jaltest AGV coverage are listed below; the 8-pin version also occurs within the same series.

Good to know: The round diagnostic connector is located in the cab and has a chrome-plated metal sleeve. On these machines Claas uses two nearly identical plugs that differ only in the number of pins. Seven pins is the correct type for this cable; eight pins is for the JDC530A. Count the pins in the connector on your machine before you order.
