The Marine adapter cable set Outboard (70002025) contains eight cables that connect the manufacturer-specific diagnostic connector of an outboard motor to the Jaltest Link. The set covers Yamaha, Mercury, Honda, Suzuki and Evinrude.
An outboard motor houses its control unit under the cowling. For Evinrude, the set includes the direct cable JDC609.9 as well as the NMEA 2000 branch cable JDC628A, which lets you reach the motor via the instrument bus. Mercury is covered by three cables, from the 4-pin connector to SmartCraft G3. The cables fall under Jaltest Marine.

Applications and functionality
Each cable in this set converts a manufacturer-specific diagnostic connector to the standard connector of the Jaltest Link. What you can do afterwards is determined by the Jaltest software and the coverage table for that engine, not by the cable.

How to use it
- Check the connector: See which plug is under the cowling.
- Choose the cable: Pick the JDC cable for that brand.
- Connect: Attach the cable to the Jaltest Link and, with a V9 if necessary, via the JDC100B.
- Start the software: Open Jaltest and select Jaltest Marine.
- Read out: Select the brand and engine and read out the control unit.
Compatible vehicles and applications
What matters is the engine, not the boat. An outboard motor is mounted on the transom and goes with the owner, so the same diagnostic connector appears on hulls from different boatyards.
Yamaha:
- Outboard motors: 3-pin connector, JDC601A.
Mercury:
- 4-pin connector: JDC603A.
- A9, 2-pin: JDC614A.
- SmartCraft G3, 10-pin: JDC617A.
Honda:
- Outboard motors: 4-pin connector, JDC608A.
Suzuki:
- Outboard motors: 4-pin connector, JDC616A.
Evinrude:
- Direct: Diagnostic connector, JDC609.9.
