The Multi-Purpose adapter cable set (70002005) contains five cables for sweepers and implement carriers. It lets you connect the diagnostic connector of multi-purpose equipment to the Jaltest Link. The set combines the chassis connectors of Mercedes-Benz and Iveco with the engine connectors for Kubota and FPT.

A sweeper or winter service vehicle is often a body built on an existing chassis. The chassis side then comes from a commercial vehicle brand, and the drive from a separate engine supplier. The JDC217.9 also serves the standardised J1939 connector, which appears across brands on newer equipment. The cables fall under Jaltest Multi-Purpose Vehicle.

HIGHLIGHTS

POINTS TO NOTE

✕The JDC217.9 is listed for the Jaltest Link V9; the other cables in this set also work with the V8.1.
✕The set covers the chassis and the engine. The body itself, such as the brush drive or the spreader control, has its own system that is not covered here.
✕Chassis from MAN and DAF require their own cables, including the JDC207A, JDC210A and JDC209A; these are not included in this set.
✕For Deutz engines, Jaltest supplies its own cables, the JDC570A (19-pin) and the JDC504A (12-pin), which are not included in this set. Check the connector fitted to the machine itself before ordering.

Applications and functionality

Each cable in this set converts a proprietary diagnostic connector to the standard Jaltest Link connector. What you can do afterwards is determined by the Jaltest software and the machine's coverage table, not by the cable. The set combines chassis connectors and engine connectors.

How to use it

  1. Select system: Read chassis or engine?
  2. Check connection: Check which connector is fitted.
  3. Choose cable: Select the JDC cable for that brand or J1939.
  4. Connect: Connect the cable to the Jaltest Link; the JDC217.9 directly to the V9.
  5. Read out: Open Jaltest, select make and model and read out.

The connector determines it, not the machine. As a result, Kubota and FPT engines appear in equipment from various builders.

Standardised connector:

  • Deutsch 9-pin green: J1939 on newer equipment, JDC217.9.

Good to know: A sweeper often has two sides: the chassis on which the machine is built and the engine that drives the body. Which cable you need depends on the system you want to read. Check the connector fitted to the machine itself before ordering.
