\nThe Jaltest JDC40AM2 is a short black connector piece of 4.8 cm that on the 7-pin PLC connection between the towing vehicle and trailer is inserted. On the front side there is a round holder with seven positions, of which only two metal connection points carry: A small one and one with a clear larger diameter. The rear is a closed, rounded housing with a ribbed thumb grip; it features no cable and no second connection on.\n
\nThese two occupied positions are the power adapters: The power is supplied from the 7-pin connector itself, the same connector through which SAE J2497 sends its data. The component therefore does not supply power — there are no battery clamps, no cable and no fuse holder included — but passes through the voltage present to the PLC setup with which you read out the trailer. Together with the JDC112A and a 9-pin Deutsch diagnostic cable he forms that configuration. He is registered for the Jaltest Link V8.1 and V9 and falls under Jaltest CV (commercial vehicles).\n
