The Jaltest Adapter Cable Set 29989 is intended for refrigeration units. With the three cables you connect the diagnostic port of the refrigeration unit on a refrigerated trailer to your Jaltest diagnostic cable. The set works with Thermo King and Carrier, with a 5-pin and two 3-pin connections.
A refrigerated trailer has two separate systems: the braking system of the semi-trailer and the refrigeration unit fitted on top of it. That refrigeration unit has its own control unit and its own diagnostic port, and this set is for that. For Carrier, the set contains two 3-pin cables. The JDC115.9 terminates in the 26-pin DB26, and the JDC121A9 is the CAN version that terminates in a 16-pin OBD2. The cables fall under Jaltest CV (Commercial Vehicles).

Applications and functions
Each cable in this set converts the diagnostic port of the refrigeration unit to the standard connector of the Jaltest Link. What you can do afterwards is determined by the Jaltest software and the coverage table for that cooling unit, not by the cable. The refrigeration unit operates independently of the trailer's braking system and is read out separately.

How to use it
- Locate the connection: Check whether the refrigeration unit is 5-pin or 3-pin.

- Connect: Plug it into the Jaltest Link.
- Start the software: Open Jaltest CV on the PC.
- Read out: Select the refrigeration unit and read out.
Compatible vehicles and applications
The refrigeration unit is what matters, not the semi-trailer. A refrigeration unit is built as a separate installation on the trailer, so the same diagnostic port is found on semi-trailers from various manufacturers.
Thermo King:
- 5-pin connection: Thermo King refrigeration units with the 5-pin diagnostic port.
Carrier:
- 5-pin connection: Carrier refrigeration units with the 5-pin connection.
- Flat 3-pin connection: Carrier refrigeration units with the 3-pin connection, including the CAN version.
