The Watercraft cable set (29985) contains six cables that connect the diagnostic and immobiliser connection of a personal watercraft to the Jaltest Link. Two of them are diagnostic cables for BRP Sea-Doo and Kawasaki, three are IMMO adapters, and the sixth is a power cable.

Alongside engine diagnostics, the immobiliser plays a key role on a personal watercraft, because keys and start interrupters must be connected to the vessel. The set therefore includes separate IMMO adapters for BRP Sea-Doo, Yamaha and Kawasaki. The JDC641M is a power cable that supplies power to the Kawasaki control unit during operation. The cables fall under Jaltest Marine.

POINTS TO NOTE

✕This is the version without Yamaha diagnostic cable. The IMMO adapter for Yamaha (JDC661M) is included, but the diagnostic cable JDC601A must be ordered separately.
✕The JDC601A is included in the vessel set 70002008 and the outboard set 70002025.
✕The JDC641M is a power supply cable and does not read anything itself; it is used alongside a diagnostic cable.
✕Check the connection on the personal watercraft itself and whether you need the diagnostics or the immobiliser before you order.

Applications and functions

The cables in this set do two different things. The diagnostic cables convert the proprietary connector to the standard connector of the Jaltest Link; the IMMO adapters give access to the starter cut-off for key programming. What you can do afterwards is determined by the Jaltest software and the coverage table for that vessel, not by the cable.

How to use it

  1. Define your purpose: Choose between diagnostics and immobiliser.
  2. Check the connector: See which plug is fitted to the vessel.
  3. Choose the cable: Diagnostic cable or IMMO adapter for that brand.
  4. Connect: Attach the cable to the Jaltest Link; for Kawasaki, use the JDC641M alongside if required.
  5. Read out: Open Jaltest Marine and select brand and model.

Compatible vehicles and applications

The make of the vessel is decisive. On a personal watercraft the control unit is located under the engine cover, and the connection belongs to the manufacturer itself, not to a separately fitted engine. Alongside reading out, the immobiliser has its own connection to the start interrupter.

BRP Sea-Doo:

Kawasaki:

  • Diagnostics: JDC610A.
  • Power supply: JDC641M.
  • Immobiliser: JDC662M.

Yamaha:

  • Immobiliser: JDC661M.
  • Diagnostics: Not included in this set; the JDC601A must be ordered separately.

Good to know: This set is named in full as without Yamaha cable. The IMMO adapter for Yamaha is included, but the diagnostic cable JDC601A is not. If you work on Yamaha waterscooters, order that cable separately. Check the connector fitted to the vessel itself before you order.
