The Jaltest JDC502A is the adapter cable for Steyr engines with the manufacturer-specific 6-pin connector; the engine side features this connector, while the interface side connects to the 16-pin OBD2 of your Jaltest diagnostic cable. The diagnostic connector is located on or near the engine block, so the machine housing the engine determines which cable you need. Cojali supplies the cable as a 6-pin diagnostics cable for Steyr engines.
Through this connection, diagnostic equipment accesses the engine control unit and reaches the two control modules in the Steyr Engines coverage group: the EDC CAN (Electronic Diesel Control) and the UIS 1.0 (Unit Injector System). With both systems, functionality is limited to reading: fault codes, live data, and ECU information. These same engines are covered for both stationary and marine applications, and the manufacturer-specific connector has not been replaced with a standard plug. The cable falls under Jaltest OHW (Off-Highway machines) and Jaltest Marine.
