The Jaltest JDC535A is the adapter cable for Hitachi excavators, wheel loaders and dump trucks equipped with the manufacturer's proprietary 6-pin diagnostic connector; the vehicle-side connector is fitted with this plug, while the interface side features the 16-pin OBD2 connection for your Jaltest diagnostic cable. The 6-pin connector is located in the cab.
With this connection, the Jaltest equipment reads not only the Isuzu engine control unit, but also the machine-side systems of the Hitachi: The central computer MC, the gateway ICF and the instrument cluster MON are all on the same line. The Isuzu 4HK1/4JJ1 control unit is supported via both CAN and K-Line protocols. The difference in coverage lies with the ICF gateway, from which Jaltest reads fault codes only. Construction equipment has never been required to have a 16-pin OBD2 connector, which means this adapter remains in use on recent Zaxis machines. The cable falls under Jaltest OHW (Off-Highway machines).

Control Units You Can Access
- MC, Body Computer: The main machine computer, with fault codes, measured values, and ECU data.
- ICF, Gateway: The machine network gateway; Jaltest reads fault codes from this unit.
- 4HK1, 4JJ1 (CAN) Isuzu, Electronic Diesel Control, Common Rail: The common-rail engine control of newer Zaxis generations, including additional functions.
- 4HK1, 4JJ1 (K Line) Isuzu, Electronic Diesel Control, Common Rail: The same engine family using older K-Line communication.
- ECM, Engine Control Module: Engine control on machines without Isuzu-specific management.
- MON, Instrument Cluster: The cab instrument panel.
What You Can Do
- Read and Clear Fault Codes: Access the control unit's fault memory with detailed descriptions of detected faults.
- View Measured Values: Monitor real-time sensor readings connected to the control unit, displayed as numbers and graphs.
- Check Maintenance Data: Available for the engine control unit, showing maintenance intervals and service reports.
- Perform Additional Functions: Available only for Isuzu engine control on CAN; these functions are not available on the K-Line variant.

The connector type is what matters, not the machine model.This cable is compatible with any Hitachi machine equipped with the 6-pin diagnostic connector. The Jaltest OHW coverage includes the series listed below; check which connector is installed in your cab on-site.
