The Jaltest JDC628A is the adapter cable that connects the 5+5-pin diagnostic connector for Evinrude-outboard motors with NMEA 2000 network connects to a standard 16-pin OBD2-interface. On the engine side, you'll find the 5+5-pin connector from the NMEA 2000 network, while the interface side features the 16-pin OBD2 port for the Jaltest Link. The same engine control unit for the E-TEC G2 is also available in a serial version with its own proprietary connector.
Behind this single connector lie the control units of the Evinrude E-TEC G2-installation. This cable supports the NMEA 2000 interface and provides access to EMM G2, the Engine Management Module, with the complete feature set, and up to the EST, the electronic throttle control module. The EST has a shorter list: Reset and live data are missing there. The G2 engines communicate with the rest of the onboard system via the NMEA 2000 network. The cable falls under Jaltest Marine.

- EMM G2 (NMEA 2000) — Engine Management Module: The networked engine control unit, with fault codes, live readings, component activation, ECU data, parameters, calibration, service reset and real-time data.
- EST — Electronic throttle control module: The electronic throttle lever module, with fault codes, live readings, component activation, ECU data, parameters and calibration; no reset or real-time data.
What you can do
- Read fault codes: Access the fault memory of both the engine control unit and throttle module.
- View live readings: Monitor current sensor values in real time.
- Activate components: Run active tests on both the engine control and throttle modules.
- Parameters and calibration: Adjust settings and set reference values on both control units.
- Service reset: Reset the service counter on the engine control unit.
- Live monitoring: Track engine control values in real time while the motor is running.
