The Jaltest JDC609A is the adapter cable for Evinrude outboard motors with the manufacturer's proprietary 3-pin connector; the connector sits on the motor side, while the interface side features the 16-pin OBD2 connection for the Jaltest Link. The connection is located in the engine compartment, on or next to the motor. Evinrude used the same diagnostic line across three motor generations, so a single connector works for EFI, FICHT RAM, and E-TEC engines.
With this connection, Jaltest diagnostic equipment reads the engine control and operating electronics: The ECM from EFI engines from 1999-2001, the EMM from FICHT RAM and E-TEC engines, the EMM G2 from E-TEC G2, and the EST, the throttle and shift control unit from the G2. The engine control units display the complete function list, including parameters, calibration, and reset; the EST lacks live data. The cable falls under Jaltest Marine.

- EST — throttle and shift control: The electronic lever control module for E-TEC G2, with fault codes, sensor readings, component control, ECU data, parameters, and calibration.
