\nThe Jaltest MDC11 is part of the Jaltest ETM, the adapter cable by Cojali for brake and sensor components. This cable is designed for brake pad wear sensors; Cojali describes it as Wear sensor diagnostic cable. It connects not included in the ETM kit, but is supplied by Cojali as additional ETM cable supplied loose.\n
\nThe ETM is no additional diagnostic cable needed for the OBD connection of the vehicle. It is a adapter cable that the sensor independent of the control unit approaches and establishes the communication itself. This way you can see if the sensor truly defective is, or whether the cause lies in the wiring or the control unit is located. In addition to this cable, you also need the Jaltest ETM required, with a ETM license and a active Jaltest software license.\n

What the Jaltest ETM covers
Cojali lists the following components for the ETM:
- Wabco EBS modulators: First, second and third generation.
- Knorr-Bremse EBS modulators: Second and third generation.
- Knorr-Bremse trailer control modulators: The trailer brake control modules.
- Inductive wheel speed sensors: ABS and EBS system speed sensors.
- Brake pad wear sensors: The sensors that monitor brake pad thickness.
What you can do with it
- Isolate the component: The ETM takes over the control unit role and communicates directly with the component.
- Determine if the component is actually faulty: If the component works, the fault lies elsewhere in the system.
- Perform an End of Line test (EOL): The check that confirms the component is functioning properly.
What you'll need
- Jaltest ETM: The test module itself. For the Jaltest Link V9, that's the ETM interface with reference 70001007; the complete ETM kit is 70001008.
- ETM license: Without this license, the ETM won't start. The annual renewal has reference 29701.
- An active Jaltest software license: A CV license or a Modular license. Other modules cannot be combined with the ETM.
- Power supply: The ETM is powered from the vehicle's batteries.
- This cable: The MDC11 is not included in the ETM kit and must be ordered separately.
