Thinkcar Thinktool | Inspection camera (5.5 mm)
The Thinkcar Thinktool inspection camera is an endoscope designed as an expansion module for compatible diagnostic tools. This model, the USB Video Scope, features a compact camera head with a diameter of 5.5 mm, allowing inspections in very tight spaces. The semi-rigid cable is 1.5 meters long and connects directly to a Thinktool device via a USB connection.
The camera is equipped with 6 adjustable LEDs, whose brightness can be adjusted via a control wheel on the cable for optimal lighting. The system can record photos and videos at a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, which are stored on the connected diagnostic device. The camera head and cable have an IP67 certification, meaning they are resistant to water, oil, and corrosion. Included attachments, such as a hook, magnet, and mirror, increase the camera's versatility.

This inspection camera is developed for visual inspections in hard-to-reach places in and around a vehicle. The camera functions as a plug-and-play accessory for Thinkcar Thinktool diagnostic systems.
- Plug-and-play integration: The camera connects via the USB port to a compatible Thinktool tablet and is ready for use immediately.
- Image and video recording: Enables capturing inspections in the form of photos or videos for analysis, documentation, or sharing with customers.
- Adjustable LED lighting: The integrated LEDs provide a clear image in dark environments such as engine compartments or chassis beams. The light intensity is easy to adjust.
- IP67 protection: The probe is dust-tight and can be submerged in water up to 1 meter deep for 30 minutes, making it suitable for inspections in damp or fluid-filled spaces.
Measurement and inspection capabilities:
The endoscope is suitable for a wide range of diagnostic inspections, allowing disassembly of parts to be avoided.
- Engine and cylinder inspection: Checking cylinder walls, pistons, and valves for wear, carbon deposits, or damage.
- Component inspection: Visually examining hidden parts such as turbos, catalytic converters, or gearboxes.
- Inspection of pipes and cavities: Detecting blockages, cracks, or leaks in pipes and inspecting chassis beams and body parts for rust or damage.
- Retrieving objects: With the included hook and magnet attachments, lost screws, nuts, or other small parts can be retrieved from hard-to-reach places.
Storage and connectivity:
The camera uses the hardware of the connected diagnostic device for image storage and connection.
- Storage: Captured photos and videos are saved directly to the internal memory or an SD card of the connected Thinkcar Thinktool diagnostic tablet.
- Connectivity: The endoscope is connected to the diagnostic device with a USB Type-A cable.
