Foxwell BT100 | Battery Tester

The Foxwell BT100 is a digital Battery tester developed for analyzing the condition of 12V lead-acid Batteries. This model tests the Battery directly in the vehicle, without needing to be disconnected. The tester measures the actual cold cranking amps (CCA), the overall state of the Battery (SOH - State of Health), and can detect problems in the vehicle's starting and charging system. The results, such as voltage and internal resistance, are displayed on the built-in LCD screen.

The operation of the BT100 is done via a menu-driven interface. The device does not require an internal Battery and is powered directly by the Battery being tested, even at very low voltage. The tester is equipped with reverse polarity protection, which prevents damage to the tester and vehicle electronics if the clamps are connected incorrectly. Thanks to the compact design, the tester is easy to handle and store.

Application and functionality:

The BT100 offers multiple test functions for a complete analysis of the Battery system:

• Battery test: Analyzes the state of health (SOH) and the state of charge (SOC) of the Battery. The tester measures the internal resistance and shows the actual CCA value, which is compared to the nominal value of the Battery. Also detects defective Battery cells.
• Start test: Checks the starter motor by analyzing the minimum starting voltage and the starting time during engine start. This helps identify starting problems.
• Charge test: Evaluates the operation of the charging system, including the alternator. The tester analyzes the charging voltage under no-load and load conditions, as well as the ripple voltage, to assess the condition of the alternator.

• Regular filled (Flooded): Standard wet cell Batteries widely used in passenger cars.
• AGM Flat Plate: Batteries with a fiberglass mat between the lead plates, often used in vehicles with start-stop systems.
• AGM Spiral: A variant of the AGM Battery with rolled cells for a more robust construction.
• Gel: Batteries in which the electrolyte is bound in a gel, making them maintenance-free and leak-proof.
