The iProg 35080-160 Adapter is an accessory designed for the iProg+ programmer. This Adapter is specifically developed for reading, writing, and erasing data on various EEPROM chips, including the 35080, 160DOWQ, 160DOWT, 35160WT, and 35128WT series. The circuit board features a ZIF socket (Zero Insertion Force) for easy placement and removal of chips without soldering.
The primary function of the Adapter is erasing the incremental register, often the first 32 bytes, of compatible EEPROM chips. This memory area is usually protected against overwriting and contains odometer data. The Adapter allows this data to be removed so the chip can be reprogrammed, for example for odometer correction. All operations are performed directly via the iProg+ programmer.
Application and functionality:
This Adapter extends the functionality of the iProg+ programmer for specific tasks related to EEPROM memory management, particularly in modifying data in instrument panels.
- Reading and writing: Reads and writes the full data of supported EEPROM chips.
- Incremental register erasing: Removes data from the normally non-overwritable memory area (first 32 bytes) of chips such as the M35080 and M35160. This enables odometer reprogramming.
- Chip support: Designed to work with a range of EEPROMs commonly used in vehicle dashboards, especially from European brands.
- Direct operation: Performs erase operations in combination with the iProg+ programmer, without the need for an external computer for this specific process.
