The OBDSTAR DC706 ECU programmer is a specialized device for cloning, reading, and writing data on engine control units (ECM), transmission control units (TCM), and body control modules (BCM) of cars and motorcycles. The device operates via OBD, BENCH, BOOT, BDM, and JTAG and supports reading ECU info, reading and writing EEPROM/DFLASH/PFLASH/MAP, resetting to virgin status, odometer correction, reading IMMO pin code, and ECU recovery. The Full version comes with all seven configurations, making ECM, TCM, and Body/Other cloning immediately available. The software license is valid for 1 year from activation.
The DC706 runs on Android 5.1.1 with an RK3128 quad-core ARM Cortex A7 processor, a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen with 1024×600 resolution, 16 GB internal storage expandable via microSD up to 32 GB. The device supports WiFi for software updates and is powered by a 3700 mAh polymer lithium battery. For expansion to specific transmission adapters, CAN-FD communication, and bench work, various optional TCM adapters and programming kits such as the P003+ and MP001 are available.

- License period: The software license is valid for 1 year from the first activation.
- Software updates: During the active license period, updates are delivered via WiFi with new vehicle support, expansions of ECU, TCM, and BCM databases, and fixes for known issues.
- Extended functions: New ECU protocols, updated cloning procedures, and additional vehicle coverage require an active license to be downloaded and used.
- After license expiration: The device will continue to operate with the last installed software version; new updates and expansions will only be available again after license renewal.
