Topdon ArtiLink AL200 | Error Code Reader | Car
The Topdon ArtiLink AL200 is a fault code reader designed for performing basic diagnostics on OBD2-compatible vehicles. The device communicates with the engine control unit to read and clear diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). Results are displayed on a 128 x 64 pixel display with backlighting, powered directly via the vehicle's OBD2 port.
This scanner supports multiple communication protocols, including K-Line, L-Line, Double CAN, J1850 PWM, and J1850 VPW. In addition to reading and clearing fault codes, the ArtiLink AL200 can also display Freeze Frame data and check the I/M Readiness status to verify readiness for emission tests. Operation is plug-and-play, meaning no batteries or external software are required for use.
Application and functionality:
The ArtiLink AL200 offers a range of diagnostic functions for vehicle maintenance:
- Read and clear fault codes: Reads generic diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) from the engine control unit and allows turning off the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) by clearing the codes.
- I/M Readiness status: Checks the status of the vehicle's emission-related systems to determine if they are ready for an emission test or MOT inspection.
- Freeze Frame data: Displays a snapshot of the vehicle's operational parameters, such as engine speed and coolant temperature, at the moment an emission-related fault was detected.
- Retrieve vehicle information: Retrieves the vehicle identification number (VIN), calibration ID (CIN), and calibration verification number (CVN).
- Plug-and-play: The device works immediately after connecting to the OBD2 port and is powered through this port, without the need for batteries.
