The jaltest reading equipment has certainly been a good investment for me. Reading vehicles right up to viewing wiring diagrams. Everything a mechanic needs is on it. A bit on the expensive side but it does what it's supposed to do!

The Jaltest CV is a complete diagnostic system for commercial vehicles: A case containing the Jaltest Link V9, the interface unit you connect to the diagnostic port of the vehicle, and the software that runs on your own laptop.
With it, you can access the control units of lorries, trailers, buses and vans. The coverage page lists 70 lorries, 73 buses and 45 vans, plus 34 component manufacturers. A new software version is released three times per year, with additional makes, models and systems.
This set contains everything you need to perform diagnostics: The Link, the software activation and the software licence for the first year. We activate the module as soon as you receive the device, based on the serial number of the supplied Link; you don't need to submit anything yourself. A laptop and the brand-specific cables you'll need to arrange separately.
KEY BENEFITS
POINTS TO NOTE
What's in the box
The case contains the hardware which provides the connection, plus the software rights that unlock the CV module system. The hardware is identical to that in the standalone kit 70001052; the difference between the diagnostic readers lies in the software module, not in the case. Below you'll find details of each component and its corresponding reference number.
Hardware
- Jaltest Link V9 (70001015): The diagnostic interface you connect to the vehicle's diagnostic socket, with 26-pin DB26 connector to cable and USB-C to your computer.
- Multipin Kit (70002001): Twenty multipins JTP01 through JTP10, each available in two colours, connection cable JTP101 and two power cables — JDC10AM2 with battery clamps and JDC20AM2 for the cigarette lighter socket. Use these to connect directly into a connector that has no dedicated diagnostic cable.
- OBD cable, 16-pin (JDC213.9): The standard cable for the regular diagnostic connection.
- USB-C cable (JDC107.9B): The connection between the Link and your laptop.
- Extension cable, 100 cm (JDC100): Fitted with a 26-pin DB26 connector, the wide connector on the Link itself.
- Carrying case (70003015): The compact version, 505 x 381 x 146 mm.
Software
- Software (29303): The one-time purchase that unlocks the CV module.
- Licence activation, twelve months (71502018): The right to use it for the first year.
- INFO Online CV (29440): The technical documentation for the software. Included, not available separately and is free of charge from 2026 onwards.
- Jaltest GRP: The workshop software from Cojali for customers, vehicles and reports, available in Basic, Synchro and Enterprise modes; all three can be activated free of charge.
A laptop and the brand-specific cables does not come with this. See Cables and computer further down this page.
Which vehicles and systems
Jaltest CV covers four groups — heavy-duty vehicles, trailers, heavy goods vehicles and vans. A brand in the list means there is coverage, not that every model and year of manufacture is fully supported. The division by continent refers to the country where the brand originates, not the current owner.
Lorries
Well-known brands among the heavy-duty vehicles in the coverage of Jaltest CV: DAF, Iveco, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Renault, Scania and Volvo.
All 70 truck manufacturers, split by continent:
Trailers
With trailers Jaltest does not assume the manufacturer but of the fitted braking system. Looking for Krone of Schmitz, you won't find them: coverage is provided through Bendix, Cojali, Haldex, Knorr-Bremse and Wabco.
Buses
Well-known brands among the heavy goods vehicles in the coverage of Jaltest CV: Irizar, Mercedes-Benz, Scania, Setra, Van Hool, VDL and Volvo.
All 73 bus manufacturers, split by continent:
Light commercial vehicles
Well-known brands among the vans in the coverage of Jaltest CV: Citroën, Fiat, Ford, Iveco, Mercedes-Benz, Opel, Peugeot, Renault and Volkswagen.
All 45 light commercial vehicle manufacturers, split by continent:
European includes the United Kingdom, Turkey and Russia. Chinese is separate from Asian, which includes Japan, South Korea, India and Taiwan. Under Other are manufacturers from Australia and Africa, plus a few names whose country of origin could not be determined.
The vehicle systems
- Drivetrain: Engine, gearbox and exhaust aftertreatment, in the software the Antipollution group with SCR and AdBlue.
- Brakes and chassis: Service brake, auxiliary brakes, compressed air preparation, suspension, steering and chassis module.
- Electronics and comfort: Central computer, electronic modules, instrument panel, lighting, climate control, heater, display, audio and ignition interrupter.
- Safety: The Safety group, which includes emergency brake assistance and lane departure warning. There is no separate ESP category.
- Registration: The Data registration group, covering telematics and FMS, which also includes the tachograph.
Search by component rather than by vehicle
If the same system is fitted to multiple manufacturers, you access it by component rather than by vehicle. This is convenient for a brake- of ABS system that is fitted by dozens of manufacturers.
- Brakes, ABS and EBS: Knorr-Bremse, Wabco, Meritor Wabco, Bendix, Haldex, Cojali and International.
- Driving assistance and safety: Wabco, Meritor Wabco, Bendix and Eaton.
- Suspension and tyre pressure: Wabco, Meritor Wabco, Bendix and Dana.
- Transmission and retarder: ZF, ZF Meritor, Allison, Eaton, Voith, Twin Disc, Paccar, Navistar, Isuzu and GM.
- Engines: Cummins, Caterpillar, Detroit Diesel-MBE, Paccar, Mack, Volvo, Iveco-FPT, Hino, Isuzu, Navistar, MWM, Kamaz, FAW, Weichai, Yuchai, VM Motori and PSI.
- Refrigerated transport: Thermo King and Carrier, with units for trailer and truck.
What you can do with it
With the CV module you read out the control units of the vehicle, monitor measured values and actuate components. You also use it for maintenance work that requires software access: the particulate filter, the injectors, the calibrations and the service counters.
Diagnostics
- Read fault codes: The fault memory of the control unit, containing information about the codes.
- Measured values: The values of the connected sensors displayed on screen.
- Control components: Operate individual components to verify their function.
- ECU data: Serial number, software version and other control unit data.
- Parameters and calibrations: Configure control units and adjust systems.
Maintenance
- Particulate filter (DPF): Forced regeneration, and re-registration after replacement.
- Cylinder cut-out test: Disable cylinders individually to assess engine performance.
- Injector coding: Register new injectors in the engine management system.
- Component calibration: Re-adjustment following replacement.
- Service counters: Reset after a service.
The difference with expert mode
Standard diagnostics is reading, measuring and controlling components. In expert mode you also modify adjust parameters in the control units: The calibration of sensors and actuators, the setting of operating parameters and the regeneration of the particulate filter. This mode is included.
Cables and computer
The kit contains the 16-pin OBD cable for the standard connector. If the vehicle has a manufacturer-specific connector, then a separate cable at the front; these cables can be disconnected and are otherwise bundled together in three cable sets. The software itself runs on a Windows PC.
- Truck and bus (29362): Cables for Volvo, Mercedes-Benz and MTU, Wabco brake systems, Renault, Iveco, the MAN TG series, DAF and MAN with 37-pin connector.
- Trailer (70002024): Cables for Wabco and Knorr-Bremse, for Haldex EB+/TRS and TPMS, and for trailer CAN to ISO 7638-1.
- Refrigeration units (29989): Cables for Thermo King and Carrier, and for Carrier CAN.
- Individual cables: Also available separately if you only work with one manufacturer in your workshop.
- Computer: The software runs on Windows. Cojali supplies the Jaltest Rugged PC and the A140 Rugged PAD; both are listed separately in our online shop.
Which cable suits your vehicle is determined by the diagnostic connector in that vehicle, not by the manufacturer on the grille. Check the connector on the vehicle itself before you order: If it is the 16-pin OBD2 connector, then the included JDC213.9 is sufficient; if it is a manufacturer-specific connector, then the corresponding cable is in one of the three cable sets.
Licence and renewal
The software licence runs for twelve months from the activation and is then renewed annually containing the update licence (29051). As long as your licence remains active, you'll receive all new software versions and retain access to the Technical information.
- Renewal: Annually, with the update licence (29051), each time for a further twelve months.
- Subscription period: Twelve months from activation.
- Installations: Maximum of five PCs. Jaltest hardware is always required to run the software.
- Registration: Upon activation, after each new software version, and thereafter every six months.
- Additional modules: A module purchased later will be aligned with your current licence; you pay on a pro-rata basis.
- No renewal: Diagnostics will continue to work on the last installed version, but access to technical information expires. Cojali continues to support an expired licence for a further year.
Optional add-ons
In addition to the CV module there are add-ons available for separate purchase. They are not necessary to diagnose, but they expand the reference library, the support or tools. Below you'll find what's included for commercial vehicles each option.
- INFO Plus CV (70605005): The SMART Guides and wiring diagrams for the complete vehicle.
- INFO Web CV: The same reference material via a web platform, on a monthly or annual basis.
- OEM RMI: Official manufacturer repair information, by brand for Iveco, DAF and Scania.
- Knorr-Bremse Add-on: Native Knorr-Bremse software with original technical information.
- SGW Unlock: Access to vehicles with a Security Gateway, for Iveco and FCA.
- Spare Parts Search: Look up part numbers by chassis number, including exploded-view diagrams.
- Jaltest ETM: Direct measurement of EBS modulators and sensors.
- Jaltest ADAS: Calibration of driver assistance systems; requires separate calibration equipment.
- Jaltest ATS: One year's access to Cojali's English-language technical support desk. Runs automatically; cancellation must be given in writing up to thirty days before the expiry date.
