The Julie Mercedes | IMMO OFF & ESL/ELV | Emulator is an electronic module developed for simulating and replacing original vehicle components in Mercedes-Benz systems. The unit replicates the signals of the factory immobilizer (IMMO) and the electronic steering lock (ESL/ELV). The primary application is diagnosing immobilizer issues, testing the engine control unit (ECU) outside the vehicle, or temporarily replacing a defective ESL/ELV module to make the vehicle startable again.

Compatibility extends across various Mercedes-Benz models and ECU types communicating via the CAN-bus. The use of the Julie Mercedes | IMMO OFF & ESL/ELV | Emulator is intended solely for diagnostic purposes and use in a professional workshop environment. Permanently disabling the IMMO function may affect the vehicle's theft protection and may be subject to legal restrictions depending on applicable local regulations.

Applications and functionalities:

  • Diagnosis and replacement of electronic steering lock (ESL/ELV): Replaces a defective ESL/ELV module by simulating the signal of a working steering lock to the electronic ignition switch module (EIS/EZS). This resolves immobilizer issues caused by a defective steering lock in models like Mercedes W202, W203, W208, W209, W210, W211, W219, W220, W639 (Vito), W906 (Sprinter) and similar Crafter models.
  • Deactivate immobilizer (IMMO OFF): Permanently disables the IMMO system for diagnostics or as a repair solution for a defective key, antenna, or ECU. The emulator sends an authorized signal to the ECU, compatible with various Bosch and Siemens ECUs in models such as the W169 (A-Class), W245 (B-Class), W202, W208, W210, W638 (Vito) and W901-W905 (Sprinter).
  • Bench testing: Enables testing of the ECU or the EIS system outside the vehicle by simulating a correct authorization signal without requiring all vehicle components to be present.
  • Signal simulation: Emulates the communication protocols of the original ESL/ELV module or the IMMO system via the CAN-bus or K-Line, depending on the vehicle system.
  • Configuration via jumpers: The desired function (IMMO OFF or ESL/ELV emulation) and compatibility with specific systems are set by soldering jumpers on the circuit board.
  • Fault isolation: Allows a technician to quickly verify whether a fault is in the ESL/ELV module by temporarily replacing it with the emulator.
  • Data compatibility: For ESL/ELV replacement, it is often required to read data from the original electronic ignition switch (EIS) and write it to the emulator to preserve the unique vehicle coding.

The Julie Mercedes Emulator is intended exclusively for professional use by qualified vehicle technicians for diagnostic and repair purposes. Permanently disabling the immobilizer (IMMO OFF) can reduce the vehicle's theft protection and affect insurance coverage.

Supported vehicle brands and applications:

This product is developed for specific vehicle systems of the Mercedes and Chrysler brands. It supports the replacement of the immobilizer signal (IMMO OFF) and the emulation of the electronic steering lock (ESL/ELV). Communication with the engine control unit (ECU) takes place via CAN-bus or K-Line, depending on the vehicle type.
