The Autool Stroboscopic Timing Light is a diagnostic tool designed for checking and adjusting the ignition timing of petrol engines. This model operates on a 12V power system and is compatible with most conventional and electronic ignition systems. The lamp connects via battery clamps and an inductive pickup that clamps around the spark plug wire of the first cylinder.
The housing is made from ABS plastic for shock and fluid resistance. The device features a bright xenon lamp that produces a concentrated light beam to make timing marks on the crankshaft pulley or flywheel clearly visible, even in daylight. The pistol-grip design ensures stable handling during measurements.

Application and Functionality
The stroboscopic timing light is used for measuring and adjusting a vehicle's ignition system. Its functionality focuses on visualizing ignition timing:
- Checking ignition timing: The lamp flashes in sync with the first cylinder's ignition. The rotating timing marks on the crankshaft pulley or flywheel appear to stand still, allowing you to read the timing and compare it against the manufacturer's specification.
- Adjusting ignition timing: Adjust the distributor while the engine runs; the lamp immediately shows the effect for precise tuning.
- Diagnosing timing advance: Check the mechanical (centrifugal) and vacuum advance mechanisms by varying engine speed.
- Easy to connect: Red and black clamps for the 12V battery, inductive pickup clamp on the spark plug wire of cylinder 1 — no need to disconnect the cable.
