Autool SDT206 | Smoke Tester
The Autool SDT206 is a smoke tester designed for detecting leaks in various closed vehicle systems. The device operates by generating smoke under controlled pressure, which is then introduced into a system. The tester is equipped with a built-in air pump and a Pressure Gauge, eliminating the need for external compressed air. This makes the SDT206 suitable for inspecting intake, exhaust, crankcase ventilation, and EVAP systems, among others.
The smoke tester features a dual mode: an air mode for performing a pressure test without smoke and a smoke mode for visually locating leaks. A built-in flowmeter provides an indication of the size of any leak by measuring the amount of escaping air or smoke. For extra safety, the SDT206 is equipped with an overheat protection that automatically shuts off the smoke generator at high temperatures to prevent damage to internal components.
Application and functionality:
The Autool SDT206 is used for systematically detecting leaks in pipes, hoses, and connections of vehicle systems.
- Intake system leak detection: Checks the air intake path, including the intake manifold, hoses, and gaskets, for air leaks that can affect the fuel-air mixture.
- EVAP system test: Tests the fuel vapor recovery system for leaks under low pressure, ensuring the integrity of the fuel tank and associated pipes.
- Exhaust system test: Locates cracks or loose connections in the exhaust system, from the manifold to the muffler.
- Crankcase system test: Identifies leaks in the crankcase ventilation system (PCV) and associated components.
- Turbo system test: Detects pressure loss in the turbocharged air system, which can cause performance loss.
