The Autel MaxiIM IM508S is an advanced and professional key and immobiliser reading device, designed for locksmiths, garage technicians and service professionals who need reliable functionality for key programming, immobiliser (IMMO) management and full OE-level diagnostics. As an enhanced version of the popular IM508, the IM508S features a faster processor, increased internal memory and a modern Android environment, delivering faster performance and a smoother user experience. The robust 7-inch touchscreen tablet provides an intuitive interface with step-by-step guidance, enabling even less experienced users to confidently perform complex key procedures.
Vehicle communication is via a hardwired OBD2 connection, providing maximum stability during IMMO operations. The IM508S comes standard with the XP200 key and chip programmer, suitable for most transponder applications. For more advanced features such as IC reading, key verification or Mercedes IR programming, an upgrade to the XP400 Pro is available – bringing the device to virtually IM608 Pro level capability. Purchase includes 2 years of free software updates. After this period, the device remains fully functional on the last installed version; a paid licence is required for future updates and cloud feature access.
Diagnostics and service functions:
Beyond its powerful key and IMMO capabilities, the IM508S functions as a complete OE-level diagnostic device, comparable to models in the MaxiCheck range. It offers comprehensive access to vehicle systems for fault diagnosis, live data analysis and maintenance.
- Full system diagnostics: Supports in-depth diagnostics across more than 80 vehicle brands. Reads and clears fault codes from all electronic modules including engine, transmission, ABS, airbag (SRS), BCM, comfort systems, HVAC and more.
- Active tests (bidirectional control): Performs direct actuator and component control to test their operation without disassembly. Examples include fuel pump activation, fan testing, or window, door lock and mirror control.

- Oil service reset
- Electronic parking brake (EPB)
