The Autel MaxiCheck MX808 update licence extends your entitlement to software updates for the MX808 with one year. The MX808 is a wired diagnostic scanner that reads all vehicle systems and is now classified by the manufacturer as a legacy model. Between software updates, the device itself remains unchanged, whilst the vehicle fleet arriving at your workshop continues to evolve. The scanner automatically detects vehicles by VIN, reads and clears fault codes across all available modules, and provides service functions through to ABS system bleeding.

A licence renewal keeps the vehicle coverage and the service functions provided the manufacturer continues to release new versions for this older model. The licence renewal itself is digital and requires nothing from you except the serial number of the MX808; we link the licence to your device, typically within one working day. Without renewal, the scanner remains functional on the most recently installed version, but no new content is added.

KEY BENEFITS

✔The service and maintenance functions are expanded, ensuring procedures remain compatible with newer vehicles.
✔The online services linked to the licence remain accessible for as long as the renewal is active.
✔Nothing is shipped, as the renewal is digital and goes directly to the device you already own.
✔The vehicle coverage expands as new vehicles enter your workshop after your last update.

IMPORTANT NOTES

✕Once paired, the licence is tied to that single serial number; transfer to a second device is not possible.
✕When the licence expires, the supply of new versions stops and coverage no longer expands.
✕Updates cover the diagnostic software only, not the operating system; this is a device from an legacy generation and a licence renewal does not change that.
✕Downloading requires a stable wifi connection; on a busy guest network, a large update can take considerable time.

Applications and functionality

The best way to understand what a licence renewal does for the MX808 is to break the software into three components. There is the vehicle coverage, there are the function files and there is the online platform. All three advance with an active licence.

What a renewal provides

  • New vehicle coverage: Brands, models and model years added after your last update become available within existing diagnostic functions.
  • Expanded service functions: Service functions such as oil service reset, battery registration, electronic parking brake, steering angle sensor calibration and DPF regeneration continue to work on newer vehicles as manufacturers modify their systems.
  • Corrections and improvements: Bug fixes, faster routines and corrected procedures in the software itself arrive through the same updates.

What happens without renewal

  • New versions: Nothing further is added, including no corrections to software already installed.
  • Online platform: Services running through manufacturer servers may become limited or unavailable after expiry.
  • What remains: Everything the device can do at that moment, it will continue to do; the MX808 does not lose value, it simply does not gain new capabilities.

Compatible devices

This renewal is tied to one device, and that is the unit specified below.

Useful to know: You will find the serial number on the sticker on the rear of the MX808 and in the settings menu under device information. Provide this number when placing your order.

How does it work in practice?

In practice, it's Four steps and then wait for the download. We only need the serial number from you.

  1. Ordering with serial number: When placing your order, provide the serial number of your MX808; without this number we cannot activate the licence.
  2. Processing: We apply the renewal to your serial number, usually within one working day of your order.
  3. Connect the device: Switch on the MX808, connect it to wifi and leave it on charge whilst the download completes.
  4. Update: Go to the update menu, select the new versions and let the installation proceed.
