The Jaltest JDC206A is the adapter cable that converts the proprietary 30-pin diagnostic connector found on Iveco commercial vehicles to the standard 16-pin OBD2 connection. On the vehicle side, you'll find the 30-pin connector that plugs into the diagnostic port in the cab; on the interface side sits the 16-pin OBD2 connector for your Jaltest diagnostic cable.
Through this adapter, your diagnostic equipment connects to the vehicle network and gains access to the control units across virtually the entire heavy-duty Iveco range from the 1990s and early 2000s—from EuroCargo and EuroTech to the first Stralis models with Cursor engines. Depending on the model and engine variant, you can access the engine control units EDC M7 and EDC MS6.2, the Eurotronic 2 transmission, the braking, retarder and air suspension systems, and on the Stralis also the BC body computer and cabin modules. From Euro IV onwards (October 2005), Iveco replaced the 30-pin connector with the 16-pin OBD2 connection; if your vehicle is Euro IV or newer, you won't need this cable. This adapter falls under Jaltest CV (commercial vehicles).

Through this connection, you can access the vehicle's control units using Jaltest software. The control units listed below are part of Iveco's coverage; which ones are present depends on the model and engine type.

- EDC M7, Diesel in-line injection pump: The engine management system for the EuroTech and EuroCargo generation with in-line fuel injection pump.
- EDC MS6.2, Engine Management System, Unit Injector System: The engine management system for the Stralis with Cursor engine.
- Eurotronic 2, Gearbox with electronic control: The robotized transmission, with a separate input for setting transmission parameters.
- WTEC III Allison, Gearbox management system: The Allison automatic transmission.
- ABS C3 / ABS Knorr-Bremse / ABS D/E and EBS / EBS 2: The braking and brake management systems.
- Intarder KWP / Intarder CAN, Retarder: The auxiliary braking system.
- ECAS (4x2 A, 4x2 Ratio, 6x2 DV, CAN, KWP), Electronically Controlled Air Suspension: The electronically controlled air suspension system.
- BC, Body computer, CM, Cabin module, DDM/PDM (door modules), FFM and RFM: The body and cab modules of the Stralis.
- CU, Climate control, IC, Instrument cluster and Immobiliser: Climate control, instrument panel and engine immobilizer.
What you can do
- Read and clear fault codes: Access the control unit's fault memory, complete with descriptions of detected faults.
- View live data: Monitor real-time sensor values connected to the control unit, displayed as both numerical readings and graphs.
- Activate components: Directly trigger components to determine whether the fault lies with the part itself or in the wiring.
- Configure settings: Write configurations and parameters to the control unit.
- Perform calibrations: For systems where Jaltest offers a calibration procedure, such as after component replacement.
Compatible vehicles and applications
The connector type is what matters, not the model. This cable works with any Iveco commercial vehicle equipped with the 30-pin diagnostic connector. Jaltest CV covers the series listed below; check on-site which connector is installed in your cab.
