The OBDSTAR M001A is a 15-pin DB15 to 16-pin OBD2 Adapter Cable that serves as the main cable between an OBDSTAR diagnostic or key programming tool and the vehicle's OBD2 diagnostic port. The cable has a DB15 connector on one end for connection to the tool and a standard J1962 OBD2 plug on the other end for vehicle connection. This allows the technician to directly connect the diagnostic equipment to vehicles with a regular OBD2 port.

During use, the M001A functions as a signal and power transmission cable between the host device and the vehicle's ECU. The DB15 side connects to the tool, and the OBD2 side plugs into the vehicle's diagnostic connector. The cable supports communication protocols running through the OBD2 port, enabling code reading, programming, and key learning via the OBDSTAR tool.
