The Jaltest 29308 is the software activation for Jaltest OHW, the diagnostic module for off-highway equipment. It's a one-time purchase: The activation unlocks the OHW software on your Jaltest device and remains valid thereafter, with no expiration date. We link the activation to the serial number of your Jaltest Link and activate it within one business day of your order.

With this activation alone, you cannot yet diagnose. Jaltest requires three components: The Jaltest Link, the software activation, and the software license for the first year (74001014). From the second year onwards, you'll continue with the update license (29760). This activation is therefore the foundation on which your annual licenses rest; you purchase it once and never again.

IMPORTANT NOTES

✕You'll need the software license (74001014) as well. Without that annual license, you cannot run diagnostics.
✕The Jaltest Link is mandatory. The software won't start on your computer without this interface.
✕The software requires registration every six months, even if your license is still valid. If you skip registration, the software will be locked.
✕When placing your order, provide the serial number of your Jaltest Link in the comments field; we cannot activate the license without that number.

Applications and Features

Jaltest OHW is the module for off-highway equipment. This activation unlocks that module; what you can do with it depends on the machine and cable you're using.

What the OHW module covers

  • Earthmoving and construction equipment: Caterpillar, Volvo Construction, Hitachi, Komatsu, Liebherr, Bobcat, Doosan, Hyundai CE and Hidromek.
  • Engines: Engine control units from Deutz, Kubota, Yanmar and Mercedes-Benz/MTU.
  • Transmissions: ZF Ergopower transmissions.

What you can do

  • System scan: Display all control units present and identify any fault codes.
  • Read and clear fault codes: Access the fault memory for each control unit, complete with fault descriptions.
  • Measurement values and live data: Request sensor readings and monitor them in real-time while the equipment is running or operating.
  • Component actuation: Selectively activate actuators to determine whether a fault lies with the component itself or in the wiring leading to it.
  • Parameters and calibrations: Write settings and perform the calibration procedures that Jaltest offers per system, for example after replacing a component.
  • Maintenance resets: Reset service and maintenance intervals.
  • Expert mode: Manually select a control unit when automatic selection doesn't work.

What you'll need

Jaltest requires three components to enable diagnostics. This activation is one of them; the complete setup is listed below.

  • Jaltest Link: The diagnostic interface. Required, also to launch the software on a PC.
  • Software activation (29308): This product. One-time purchase, remains valid indefinitely.
  • Software license first year (74001014): The annual license you'll use for actual diagnostics.
  • Update license (29760): From the second year onwards, for continued access and new software versions.
  • Diagnostic cables: The OHW cable set Basic (70002030) or Complete (70002026), or individual cables per manufacturer.

Two modules build on OHW: Jaltest GSE (75201004) for ground support equipment at airports, available only alongside an active OHW subscription, and Multi-Purpose Vehicle (29348), which shares licensing terms with OHW. These modules are purchased separately.

Good to know: When your annual license expires, diagnostics continue to work on the last installed software version — you don't lose access to your equipment, but won't receive new vehicle coverage. If you renew within fifteen days of expiration, the new period runs from that expiration date; after that, it begins on the renewal date. Please include the serial number of your Jaltest Link in the order comments field.
