The Jaltest JDC210A is the diagnostic cable that connects the 37-pin connector of classic MAN trucks to the Jaltest Link. On the vehicle side, you'll find the wide 37-pin connector that plugs into the diagnostic port in the cab; on the interface side, there's the 16-pin OBD2 connector for your Jaltest diagnostic cable. This connector is found on pre-TG series generations: F 90, G 90, M 90 and the 2000 family (F 2000, E 2000, L 2000, M 2000).

The cable opens the diagnostic line to the individual control units of these trucks: The engine controllers EDC M7 and EDC MS5, the anti-lock braking systems ABS Ci12, ABS Gamma 2E/2M, ABS KB3A and ABS/ASR C, the retarder control EST-32 and EST-42, the ECAS air suspension per axle configuration, the rear axle steering RAS EC1 and the climate control ATC. These generations don't have a central vehicle computer like the later FFR of the TG series, so you diagnose each control unit individually. The cable falls under Jaltest CV (commercial vehicles).

KEY BENEFITS

Accesses the engine controllers EDC M7 and EDC MS5 with in-line injection pump.
Also covering the four ABS generations MAN used during this period: ABS Ci12, ABS Gamma 2E/2M, ABS KB3A and ABS/ASR C.
The complete ECAS family for air suspension (4x2, 6x2, ESAC) and rear axle steering RAS EC1.
Also retarder control EST-32 and EST-42 and climate control ATC are covered.

IMPORTANT NOTES

These generations lack a central vehicle computer like the later FFR in the TG series; you diagnose each control unit individually.
For the 37-pin connector only: The TGA, TGL and TGM feature the 4-pin connection and require the JDC207A.
From Euro IV onwards, MAN replaced the connector with the 16-pin OBD2 socket; this cable is not needed for those trucks.
Requires a Jaltest Link with valid CV license; the cable itself does not add coverage.

Applications and functions

Through this connection, you access the truck's control units using Jaltest software. The units listed below are from MAN coverage for the 2000 series; which ones are present depends on the specific configuration and model year.

Control units you can access

  • EDC M7, Diesel in-line injection pump and EDC MS5: Electronic engine control with inline injection pump.
  • ABS Ci12 / ABS Gamma 2E/2M / ABS KB3A / ABS-ASR C, Antilock braking system: Anti-lock braking systems from this era.
  • EST-32 / EST-42, Retarder: Auxiliary braking control.
  • ECAS 4x2 A / 4x2 N / 4x2-6x2 / 6x2 / ECAS-ESAC 6x2, Electronically Controlled Air Suspension: Electronically controlled air suspension in configurations for each axle setup.
  • RAS EC1, Rear steering axle controller: Control of the rear axle steering function.
  • ATC, Automatic Temperature Control: Automatic climate control system.

What you can do

  • Read and clear fault codes: Access the fault memory of the control unit with detailed descriptions of detected faults.
  • View live data: Real-time sensor values connected to the control unit, displayed as numbers and graphs.
  • Activate components: Directly trigger components to determine whether the fault is in the part itself or in the wiring.
  • Configure settings: Write configurations and adjustments to the control unit.
  • Perform calibrations: For systems where Jaltest offers a calibration procedure, such as after component replacement.

Compatible vehicles and applications

The connector type determines compatibility, not the model. This 37-pin adapter cable connects to the classic MAN diagnostic connector found on pre-TG generation vehicles; all these models predate the OBD2 requirement for commercial vehicles.

MAN:

  • F 90: (1986 - 1994)
  • G 90: (1987 - 1993)
  • M 90: (1988 - 1995)
  • F 2000 (19T - 41T): (1992 - 2005)
  • E 2000 (19T - 50T): (1992 - 2005)
  • L 2000 (7.5T - 10.5T): (1992 - 2005)
  • M 2000 (12T - 26T): (1992 - 2005)
  • LE / ME (derivatives of L 2000 / M 2000): (1994 - 2005)
💡
Good to know: The 37-pin connector is located in the cab. MAN replaced it in the TG series with a 4-pin plug and from Euro IV onwards with the 16-pin OBD2 connector. Therefore, check which connector your vehicle has before ordering.
