The Jaltest JDC572.9 is the diagnostic cable for Hyundai CE 9-series excavators and wheel loaders; it connects the 9-pin diagnostic connector in the cab to the 26-pin DB26 port on your Jaltest Link. You won't need a separate 16-pin diagnostic cable. Hyundai switched to this 9-pin diagnostic connector on the 9-series; the earlier 7-series uses a 4-pin connector.

Once the connection is established, the Jaltest software accesses the machine's control units. The diagnostic equipment gains access to the main machine computer MCM (9 Series) and, on machines equipped with it, to the Cummins engine control via SAE J1708 or SAE J1939. Not every 9-series has a readable engine control unit alongside the MCM. Construction equipment is not subject to OBD requirements; the distinction is based on model generation rather than year of manufacture. This cable falls under Jaltest OHW (Off-Highway machines).

IMPORTANT NOTES

✕For the 9-pin connector on the 9-series only; the older 7-series uses a 4-pin plug and requires a different cable.
✕The control units present vary by machine: Not every 9-series has a readable engine control module in addition to the MCM.
✕The Cummins engine control module is available in both J1708 and J1939 versions; which one is installed in your machine determines which databus Jaltest uses.
✕Requires a Jaltest Link with valid OHW license; the cable itself does not provide coverage.

Control Units You Can Access

  • MCM (9 Series), Body Computer: The main machine control unit for the 9-series, where machine functions and fault memory are centralized. Fault codes, measured values, and ECU data.
  • ECM Cummins SAE J1708, Engine Control Module: The Cummins engine control module with the older J1708 databus.
  • ECM Cummins SAE J1939, Engine Control Module: The Cummins engine control module with the newer J1939 CAN bus.

What You Can Do

  • Read and clear fault codes: Access the control unit's fault memory with detailed descriptions of detected faults.
  • View measured values: Monitor real-time sensor readings connected to the control unit, displayed as numbers and graphs.
