The Jaltest JDC209A is the adapter between the manufacturer-specific 16-pin diagnostic connector of DAF and the standard 16-pin OBD2 interface of the Jaltest Link. On the vehicle side, you'll find the proprietary connector located in the cab with the same number of pins as an OBD2 plug but different pin configuration; on the interface side is the 16-pin OBD2 connection of your Jaltest diagnostic cable.
This cable routes the truck's communication lines through to the Jaltest Link, enabling direct communication with the onboard control units. This gives your diagnostic equipment access to the unit pump system UPEC and engine control EDC Cummins Celect on the 95XF, the central vehicle computer VIC and AS Tronic transmission on the CF series, as well as the braking, air suspension and tachograph systems of these generations. The difference lies in the generation: the 95XF has no central vehicle computer, while the CF85 does. From Euro IV onwards (October 2005), DAF switched to the genuine 16-pin OBD2 connector; if your truck is Euro IV or newer, you won't need this adapter. The cable falls under Jaltest CV (commercial vehicles).

Through this connection, you access the truck's control units using Jaltest software. The units listed below are part of DAF coverage; which ones are present depends on the model and year of manufacture.

- EDC Cummins Celect, Engine Management System, Unit Injector System: Engine management for Cummins engines in the 95XF.
- VIC, Vehicle Intelligence Centre: The central vehicle computer for the CF series.
- AS Tronic, Gearbox with electronic control: The automated transmission with a separate input for transmission parameters.
- ABS C / ABS D / ABS D/E and EBS / EBS 2: The braking and brake management systems.
- EST-32 / EST-42, Retarder: The auxiliary braking control.
- ECAS-2 4x2 / ECAS-2 6x2 / ECAS-3, Electronically Controlled Air Suspension: The electronically controlled air suspension system.
- DIP-4, Instrument cluster and Service, Maintenance system: Instrument panel and maintenance system, with unit serial number and software version.
- EMAS, Electro-hydraulic multi-axle steering, ACH-EA / ACH-EW (air and water heating), Immobiliser, ALS-S and CDS-3: Steering, heating and security modules.
What you can do
- Read and clear fault codes: Access the fault memory of the control unit with detailed descriptions of detected faults.
- View live data: Monitor current sensor values connected to the control unit, displayed as numbers and graphs.
- Activate components: Directly control components to determine whether the fault is in the part itself or in the wiring.
- Configure settings: Write configurations and adjustments to the control unit.
- Perform calibrations: For systems where Jaltest offers a calibration procedure, such as after component replacement.
- Maintenance reset: Reset the service indicator through your vehicle's maintenance system.
Compatible vehicles and applications
The connector type determines compatibility, not the model. This cable works with any DAF equipped with the manufacturer's proprietary 16-pin diagnostic connector from before the mandatory 16-pin OBD2 standard was introduced. Jaltest CV covers the series listed below; check which connector is installed in your cab on-site.
