The device uses smoke generation through combustion in an oxygen-poor environment, which ensures rapid and dense smoke development from mineral test oil. The smoke machine features an integrated air compressor and supports adjustable working pressure up to 35 psi in standard mode, with a specific limited pressure below 10 psi for EVAP applications. The system is equipped with direct power supply compatible with both 12V and 24V vehicle batteries. This leak detection tool is versatile for pressurizing and visually inspecting intake tracts, turbo systems, exhaust systems, and fuel vapor return systems.
During the diagnostic procedure, smoke injection begins as soon as the unit is connected to the circuit being tested via a specific adapter. The pressure regulation and air flow are precisely managed through the integrated flowmeter with adjustment knob and analog pressure gauge on the front panel. This allows a technician to read pressure drop directly, indicating a fault, even before smoke flows through the system. For final leak visualization, the machine fills the sealed circuit with dense smoke, and escaping vapor marks the exact location of cracks, faulty seals, or porous hoses. The separate switches for air and smoke production make operation safer: the system can first be tested with compressed air alone to establish basic integrity, then the smoke generator is activated for precise leak localization.

- Turbo system diagnosis: Pressure testing the high-pressure section of the intake tract to identify leaks around the intercooler and turbo hoses using the standard mode.

- Independent air and smoke control: With separate activation buttons for the internal pump and heating element, the technician can first perform a dry pressure test. Only when pressure loss is detected on the gauge is the smoke activated.
- Analog measuring instruments with flow control: A continuously adjustable flow meter up to 15 liters per minute, combined with a precise pressure gauge, allows the user to precisely match both the applied pressure and volume flow to the component being tested, enabling leak detection from 0.5 mm.
