The Jaltest JDC523A is the diagnostic cable that 4-pin connector from Kubota-engines on the Jaltest Link is connected: On the engine side the manufacturer's proprietary 4-pin connector, on the interface side the 16-pin OBD2. This connector is part of the Kubota engine itself and is located in the engine compartment, on or next to the block, so it's not in a fixed location on the machine. Kubota supplies compact diesel engines to numerous equipment manufacturers, which means the same connection appears on machines from various brands.
This cable routes the communication lines through to the Jaltest Link, enabling direct communication with the engine control unit. This gives the diagnostic equipment access to the two Kubota engine control systems covered: The common-rail control system E-CDIS and the ECU 05. Both feature the same function set in the coverage table — fault codes, live data, ECU information, maintenance and additional functions — and the engine variant determines which control unit you'll encounter. Since these engines are installed in various types of machinery, the cable falls under Jaltest AGV (agricultural vehicles), Jaltest OHW (Off-Highway machines), Jaltest MHE (Material Handling Equipment), and Jaltest Multi-Purpose Vehicle.

Through this connection, you can access the engine control unit of the Kubota engine using Jaltest software. Which control module you'll find depends on the engine variant.
Control modules you can access
- E-CDIS — Electronic Diesel Control, Common Rail: Kubota's common-rail engine control system.
- ECU 05 — Electronic Diesel Control: The second control module in Kubota coverage, offering the same feature set as the E-CDIS.
What you can do
- Read and clear fault codes: Access the control module's fault memory with detailed fault descriptions, and clear it after repair.
- View live data: Monitor real-time sensor values from the control module, with the ability to set alarm thresholds for out-of-range readings.
- Maintenance: Check engine service intervals and record completed work in a report.
- Additional functions: Extra procedures that Jaltest offers per control module, such as reset and calibration functions. Available on both E-CDIS and ECU 05 for Kubota.
Compatible vehicles and applications
The connector type is what matters, not the machine brand. Since Kubota engines are installed as standalone powerplants, the engine series is what counts, not the machine manufacturer. This cable fits any Kubota engine with the 4-pin diagnostic connector; check which connector is on your engine block on-site.
