The Jaltest JDC613A is the diagnostic cable for Suzuki outboard motors; it connects the 8-pin connector to the 16-pin OBD2 port of your Jaltest diagnostic device. This connector is located in the engine compartment, on or next to the motor. Suzuki uses two connector types side by side on the DF series — a 4-pin and this 8-pin — with the JDC616A designed for the 4-pin version.

With this connection, the Jaltest equipment reads both control modules of the DF series: The engine control unit ECM and the throttle and shift control module BCM. The coverage difference lies between the two: The ECM provides component control, parameters, reset and manual procedures, while the BCM covers fault codes, live data, ECU information and calibration. The cable falls under Jaltest Marine.

LIMITATIONS

✕On the BCM you cannot control components or perform parameter or reset functions; it only provides fault codes, live data, ECU information and calibration.
✕For the 8-pin connector only; Suzuki also uses a 4-pin connector, for which the JDC616A is intended.
✕The number of pins on the engine determines which cable you need, not the model number of the outboard motor.
✕Requires a Jaltest Link with valid Marine license; the cable does not add coverage on its own.

Through this connection, you access the control units of the Suzuki outboard engine using Jaltest software.

Control units you can access

  • ECM — engine control: The Engine Control Module. This includes the manual procedure, fault codes, measured values, component control, ECU data, parameters, calibration, reset and live data.
  • BCM — control module: The Levers control electronic module for the throttle and shift levers, with fault codes, measured values, ECU data, calibration and live data.

What you can do

  • Read fault codes: Read the fault memory of the engine control and control module, with descriptions of detected faults.
  • View measured values and monitor live: The current sensor values, monitored in real-time while the engine is running.
  • Control components: Actuate actuators — engine control only.
  • Adjust parameters and reset maintenance: Also reserved for engine control.
  • Calibration: Both on the engine control and on the control module.
  • Perform manual procedure: The Manual Process checks that Jaltest performs on the engine control within the coverage.

Compatible vehicles and applications

The connector determines compatibility, not the model. This cable fits any Suzuki outboard engine with the 8-pin diagnostic connector. Jaltest Marine covers the DF models listed below; check which connector is on your engine on-site.

Suzuki:

  • Small DF models: DF9.9, DF15, DF20, DF25, DF30, DF40, DF50, DF60, DF70, DF80 and DF90
  • Mid-range: DF100, DF115, DF140, DF150 and DF175
  • Heavy-duty DF models: DF200, DF225, DF250, DF300, DF325 and DF350

Good to know: The connector is located in the engine compartment, on or next to the engine. Suzuki uses both a 4-pin and an 8-pin diagnostic connector on the DF series. Be sure to check which connector your outboard motor has before placing your order.
