The Jaltest JDC203A is the adapter cable for commercial vehicles from Mercedes-Benz with the brand's signature round 14-pin connector; on the vehicle side is that connector, on the interface side the 16-pin OBD2 that fits your Jaltest diagnostic cable. The round 14-pin connector is located in the cabin.
Once the connection is established, the Jaltest software accesses the vehicle's control units: The engine control MR with unit pump system, the driving control FR and the complete switching and clutch control (GS, AG, KS), alongside braking systems, air suspension, instrument clusters and maintenance systems. How many of these are present depends on the model: An SK/MK/LK from the nineties has only a fraction of the control units found in an Actros. Mercedes-Benz used this round connector until the introduction of Euro IV (October 2005); if your vehicle is Euro IV or newer, you won't need this cable. This cable falls under Jaltest CV (commercial vehicles).

Through this connection, you access the vehicle's control units using Jaltest software. The units listed below are from Jaltest's Mercedes-Benz coverage; which ones are present depends on your model and configuration.
Control Units You Can Access
- MR, Unit Pump System: Electronic engine control with unit pump system.
- FR, Drive control: Drive management that coordinates engine, brake and transmission requests.
- GS, Gear shift control, AG, Optimum gear automatic determination and KS, Clutch regulation: Shift control, automatic gear selection and clutch regulation.
- ABS 6 (K) / ABS 6 (KWPDC) and BS, Electronic Braking System: The anti-lock braking system and electronic brake control.
- RS, Retarder management: The retarder control system.
- NR, Electronically controlled air suspension: The electronically regulated air suspension.
- INS, Instrument cluster and WS, Maintenance system: Instrument cluster and maintenance system, including the unit's serial number and software version.
- PSM, Parameterizable special module: The customizable body control module for vehicle-specific functions.
- ART, Cruise control, distance regulator, SPA, Lane guard system and SRS, Supplemental Restraint System: Adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and airbag system.
What you can do
- Read and clear fault codes: Access the control unit's fault memory with detailed descriptions of detected faults.
- View live data: Monitor real-time sensor values connected to the control unit, displayed as numbers and graphs.
- Activate components: Directly trigger individual components to isolate whether the fault is in the part itself or in the wiring.
- Configure parameters: Write settings and configurations to the control unit.
- Perform calibrations: Execute calibration procedures available in Jaltest for specific systems, such as after component replacement.
- Reset maintenance intervals: Reset the service reminder through the vehicle's maintenance system.
Compatible vehicles and applications
The connector type determines compatibility, not the model. This cable works with any Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle equipped with the round 14-pin diagnostic connector, which was used until the introduction of Euro IV (October 2005). Jaltest CV covers the series listed below; check your cab connector on-site to confirm compatibility.
