The Jaltest JDC103A is the adapter cable that connects the 7-pin diagnostic connector of trailer braking systems from Wabco and Knorr-Bremse to a standard 16-pin OBD2-interface. Both manufacturers use the same 7-pin connector on these brake control units, which is located at the control module on the chassis; on the interface side, you'll find the 16-pin OBD2 connector of your Jaltest diagnostic cable.

The cable opens the diagnostic line to the trailer ABS of both brands: On the Wabco side Vario C, VCS, VCSII and VCSII CAN, on the Knorr-Bremse side A18, KB3-TA and KB4-TA. The Jaltest equipment reads fault codes, measured values and ECU data from these control units; with VCS, VCSII and VCSII CAN, maintenance data is also included, and with VCSII and VCSII CAN additional diagnostic messages. Since no standardized diagnostic connector has ever been mandated for trailers, this connector continues to be used on more recent semi-trailers. The cable falls under Jaltest CV (commercial vehicles).

✕Only for the 7-pin connector: The EBS generations of both brands have their own connector; the ISO 7638 cable (JDC110A) is intended for those.
✕With Wabco Vario C does not provide maintenance data in the coverage—only fault codes, live data, and ECU information.
✕The EBS units Wabco EBS C, EBS D, EBS D CAN, EBS E and iEBS and Knorr-Bremse TEBS Gen2, TEBS G2.x, TEBS4 and iTEBS X cannot be accessed with this cable.
✕Requires a Jaltest Link with valid CV license; some Knorr-Bremse functions also require the separate Knorr-Bremse Diagnostics module (ref. 71502007).
