The Jaltest 29348 is the software activation for Jaltest Multi-Purpose Vehicle, the diagnostic module for vehicles with combined applications. It's a one-time purchase: The activation unlocks the Multi-Purpose Vehicle software on your Jaltest equipment and remains valid thereafter, with no expiration date. We link the activation to the serial number of your Jaltest Link and activate it within one business day after your order.

With this activation alone, you cannot yet diagnose. Jaltest requires three components: The Jaltest Link, the software activation, and the software license for the first year (74001012). From the second year onwards, you'll continue with the update license (29349). Under the license terms, Multi-Purpose Vehicle is grouped with OHW; if you're already using Jaltest OHW (29308), please take that into account.

IMPORTANT NOTES

✕You'll need the software license (74001012) as well. Without that annual license, you cannot run diagnostics.
✕The Jaltest Link is mandatory. The software won't start on your PC without this interface.
✕The software requires registration every six months, even if your license is still active. If you skip registration, the software will be locked.
✕When placing your order, provide the serial number of your Jaltest Link in the comments field; we cannot activate the license without that number.

Applications and Features

Jaltest Multi-Purpose Vehicle is the module for vehicles with combined applications. This activation unlocks that module; what you do with it next depends on your vehicle and the cable you're using.

What the Multi-Purpose Vehicle module covers

  • Multi-purpose vehicles: Vehicles with multiple uses and combined applications that don't fit entirely within one of the CV, HGV, AGV or MHE categories.
  • Mercedes-Benz/MTU and Iveco: Engine control units, via cables JDC203A and JDC206A.
  • Kubota: Engine control units, via cable JDC523A.
  • FPT engines: The 19-pin connector, via cable JDC526A.

What you can do

  • System scan: Display all control units present and identify any fault codes.
  • Read and clear fault codes: Access the fault memory for each control unit, with detailed fault descriptions.
  • Measurement values and live data: Request sensor readings and monitor them in real-time while the vehicle is running or operating.
  • Component control: Activate actuators selectively to determine whether a fault lies with the component itself or in the wiring leading to it.
  • Parameters and calibrations: Write settings and perform the calibration procedures that Jaltest offers per system, for example after replacing a component.
  • Service resets: Reset service and maintenance intervals.
  • Expert mode: Manually select a control unit when automatic selection doesn't work.

What you'll need

Jaltest requires three components to enable diagnostics. This activation is one of them; the complete setup is listed below.

  • Jaltest Link: The diagnostic interface. Required, also to launch the software on a PC.
  • Software activation (29348): This product. One-time purchase, remains valid indefinitely.
  • First-year software license (74001012): The annual license you use to perform actual diagnostics.
  • Update license (29349): From the second year onwards, for continuous access and new software versions.
  • Diagnostic cables: The Multi-Purpose cable set (70002005) with JDC203A, JDC206A, JDC217.9, JDC523A and JDC526A, or individual cables per manufacturer.

Under the license terms, Multi-Purpose Vehicle is combined with Jaltest OHW (29308), the module for off-highway equipment. If you also work on commercial vehicles, there's Jaltest CV (29303). Those activations are purchased separately.

Good to know: When your annual license expires, diagnostics will continue to work on the last installed software version — you won't lose access to your equipment, but you won't receive new vehicle coverage. If you renew within fifteen days of the expiration date, the new period runs from that expiration date; after that, it begins on the renewal date. Please include the serial number of your Jaltest Link in the comments field when placing your order.
