Diagnostic Functions

The Jaltest CV truck module delivers comprehensive, brand-independent diagnostics at OE level for all electronic systems in commercial vehicles. Key features:

• Full system diagnostics: automatically performs a complete scan of all control units (ECUs) present and immediately detects fault codes per system.
• Read and clear fault codes: displays current, permanent and intermittent fault codes with clear descriptions, including original OEM fault code numbers and explanatory details.
• Live data monitoring: records real-time sensor values and parameters, both numerically and graphically, with the ability to save measurements for later analysis.
• Actuator testing: commands individual components such as valves, relays, injectors or electric actuators directly to verify their operation in real time.
• ECU and system information: provides access to technical data of the control units, including part number, software version, serial number and initial installation data.

Maintenance, service and calibration functions

A comprehensive package of procedures specifically for trucks, equivalent to (and often more advanced than) manufacturer-specific diagnostic equipment. This allows you to perform complete diagnostics and repair procedures independently and according to OE specifications.

Engine and exhaust aftertreatment

• DPF service: forced, static and dynamic regeneration of the diesel particulate filter, including soot and ash value reset.
• SCR/AdBlue system service: diagnosis and maintenance of AdBlue pump, injector and heater, including leak test, pressure check and reset procedures.
• Injector coding: writes IMA, C2i or C3i codes to the ECU for precise fuel injection.
• Cylinder cutout test: checks individual cylinder contributions to quickly locate mechanical defects.
• Compression test: software-controlled test to assess relative engine compression.
• EGR/throttle housing learning: calibration after cleaning or replacement of the EGR valve or throttle housing.
• VGT turbo test: tests variable geometry turbo for response and range of motion.
• Crankshaft/camshaft sensor learning: performs the learning procedure after sensor or control unit replacement.

Transmission and drivetrain

• Transmission calibration: adjustment of shift actuators and clutch on automated gearboxes such as I-Shift, Opticruise and AS Tronic.
• Clutch learning: determines the engagement point and performs wear check.
• Transmission fluid service reset: restores the maintenance interval for transmission fluid.

Brake and safety systems

• EPB service: electronic parking brake control for brake caliper maintenance.
• ABS/EBS bleeding: activates the pump to remove air from the system.
• Brake pressure sensor calibration: calibration of pressure sensors within the EBS system.
• Wear indicator reset: reset of wear warning systems when installing new brake pads.

Chassis, suspension and steering

• Air suspension calibration (EAS/ECAS): adjusts ride height and sensors — essential after replacing air suspension components.
• Steering angle sensor (SAS) calibration: calibration following wheel alignment or steering and chassis work.

Advanced diagnostics & technical information

One of the most distinctive features is the direct integration of comprehensive technical information into the diagnostic software. This lets you quickly switch between fault analysis, system insights and practical execution within a single work environment.

• System technical data: extensive specifications of sensors, actuators and control units, including nominal values, signal ranges and operating characteristics.
• Interactive wiring diagrams: fully interactive electrical schematics where components, wiring and pin-outs are clickable, with direct access to corresponding measurement values, test procedures and connection data.
• Vehicle technical data: comprehensive database with torque specifications, fluid capacities, adjustment data and mechanical specifications.
• Repair guides by fault code: step-by-step repair guide for each detected fault code, with cause and solution analysis based on make and vehicle data.
• Guided symptom-based diagnostics: even without fault codes, start a symptom-based diagnosis (e.g. "engine won't start") with guided test steps and logic.
• Maintenance data: maintenance schedule per vehicle model, including tasks, intervals and required parts or fluids.
• Component locations and photos: detailed photos and location information of ECUs, sensors and actuators for quick physical identification in the vehicle.

License information

The Jaltest CV truck module operates on the basis of an annual software license specifically for heavy-duty trucks. This license provides full access to truck diagnostic functions and includes:

• Technical support, including assistance with activations, license management, fault analysis and updates.
