The OBDSTAR TCM-005 adapter cable is specifically designed for directly connecting Bosch DQ380, DQ381, and DQ500 (0DE) transmission control units (TCM) with OBDSTAR readers and programmers. The adapter cable uses a specific 16-pin round TCM connector on the vehicle side and a standardized 15-pin DB15 connector on the tool side. This configuration allows technicians to connect the transmission mechatronics on the workbench without accessing the vehicle through the regular diagnostic port. Please note that this cable only works with systems from the OBDSTAR brand.

This wired interface facilitates direct and stable signal transmission for advanced transmission diagnostics and flash procedures. By physically isolating the TCU and connecting it via the DB15 interface, a reliable communication line is established for reading and writing internal memory chips. This ensures that complex operations such as EEPROM cloning procedures and calibration data learning are performed safely, completely independent of the vehicle's CAN bus network.

  • Data Acquisition: Ensures stable and safe reading of calibration, EEPROM, and Flash data via a fixed wired connection.

This adapter cable is designed for use with specific VAG models equipped with a Bosch 7-speed DSG transmission system.

Volkswagen (VAG Group):

  • All models equipped with Bosch DQ380 (0DE) transmission: (From approx. 2015)
  • All models equipped with Bosch DQ381 (0DE) transmission: (From approx. 2017)
  • All models equipped with Bosch DQ500 (0DE) transmission: (From approx. 2009)
