The Autool SPT360 is a stationary Spark Plug Tester designed for diagnosing components within the ignition system. This device allows technicians to visually check and assess the ignition spark of disassembled spark plugs outside the combustion chamber. The tester is mainly used for fault diagnosis of gasoline engines, where the functioning of the spark plug under variable loads can be evaluated to detect wear or defects.
During the diagnostic process, the tester itself generates a high voltage to simulate the operation of a coil, after which the spark strength and continuity are immediately visible. The user places the spark plug in one of the five test ports, after which the test speed is digitally adjustable between 200 and 9000 revolutions per minute. By adjusting the simulated engine frequency, the stability of the spark discharge at different speeds can be visually compared with a reference spark plug in the base station, which helps identify insulation problems or an excessively large electrode gap.

- Comparative Diagnosis: Simultaneous activation of multiple spark plugs. By placing a new or properly functioning reference spark plug in the designated port, the spark pattern (color and intensity) can be directly compared with the suspect plugs.
- Visual Flashover Inspection: Assessing the spark formation between the center electrode and ground electrode to detect insulation damage or contamination that leads to leakage currents.
