The Autel MX-Sensor is a TPMS sensor that operates within a direct TPMS. This component measures the tire pressure and temperature in the wheel in real time. The hardware is configured so that the sensor can transmit signals on both the 433 MHz and 315 MHz frequency. This makes this single component applicable to a very wide range of vehicles from the European, American, and Asian markets, replacing the original sensors.
Measurements are performed by an internal sensor chip and the data is then transmitted via an RF signal to the vehicle's control unit. For correct synchronization, the sensor communicates with the system via a unique sensor ID. Since this is a blank sensor, it must be taught the correct vehicle protocol through a programming process before installation. During use, a built-in accelerometer detects that the wheel is turning, after which the sensor wakes up and periodically sends data sequences to keep the tire status current in the onboard computer.

Applications and functionalities
This empty TPMS sensor is intended for installation in vehicle wheels to replace defective OEM sensors or to equip seasonal tire sets. The main technical features are described below.
- Pressure and temperature recording: The built-in chip continuously measures the pressure of the tire volume (up to 800 kPa) and the air temperature (from -40°C to +125°C) for transmission to the control unit.
- Vehicle communication: Generates an RF signal on the required frequency band of the specific vehicle (315 MHz or 433 MHz) once the correct protocol is loaded.
- ID cloning: Enables copying and storing the hexadecimal code (sensor ID) of an existing, disassembled sensor, bypassing the OBD learning procedure on the vehicle.
Special features and capabilities
The physical and electronic design of this model offers several specific features that affect the installation and configuration process.
- Modular valve system: The coupling of the sensor housing features a mechanical click system. This allows the rubber valve to be manually removed to install an aluminum variant if desired, without using special tools.
- Batch programming: The antenna and processor can simultaneously receive signals from a diagnostic tool, allowing up to sixteen sensors to be programmed in one operation with the correct software.
